You can become a Freemason from the age of 18 onwards

No- We support both the scouts and other youth organization via our charity fundraising efforts

Much of what happens in a Lodge meeting is the same as would happen in any other club or organization

  • Firstly, we ok the minutes of the last meeting
  • A ballot is held for any new people wanting to join
  • Lodge admin, account etc. is discussed
  • Any news regarding Masonry and our Charity work is shared
  • A Masonic ceremony is carried out of which there are 4 main types
  • Lodge meeting is closed

After the meeting comes the social part of the evening

Firstly, we all meet up in a bar, have a quick drink and socialise for half an hour, this provides a great opportunity to catch up with Lodge members and to meet any guests from other Lodges that have attended our meeting.

Next we head into the dinning room and have a meal together, there are a few speeches, many toasts and a couple of songs thrown in and we all have a good time

All Candidates will go through a ceremony of initiation, you may have heard many stories about ceremonies of initiation but we can assure you, what you heard is totally untrue

The ceremony has remained unchanged for over 300 years and every member of the lodge will have gone through the same ceremony at their own initiation

Ask any freemason and they will tell, they can't remember their own initiation ceremony

The most important thing within the ceremony of initiation is that you confirm you are aged 18 years and above and have a belief in a supreme being

That's right freemasonry is open to everyone

Any man of any religion is entitled to join

  1. First Degree or Initiation: This is when a new person joins freemasonry as an Entered Apprentice
  2. Second Degree: The Entered Apprentice is passed to the Degree of a Fellowcraft, the midway of Freemasonry
  3.  A Fellowcraft is raised to the Degree of a Master Mason

Put it simply - there isn't one

All Freemasons are expected to have a religious belief, of their own choice, to be a member but Freemasonry does not seek to replace a Mason's religion nor to be a substitute for it

We are a non-religious organization and accept members for all religions

Again, there isn't one.
Freemasonry does not do politics. Talking about politics or religion on Lodge evening is never done.

Yes- freemasonry exist across the globe

Our lodge fees are £150 per year

There are joining fees payable on initiation to cover administration costs but these will be made clear to you before you join

Mason believe that you should always help those less fortunate than themselves and hence, are always raising and donating money to charity

As it is with other clubs/organizations we also help any of our member should they or their family have misfortune to fall on hard times
